Dr. Subhas Mohan is the Founder and Managing Partner of SM Consulting Inc., a New York-based education consulting firm specializing in systems transformation, executive leadership development, AI advisory, and workforce development.
With over 31 years of senior leadership within the New York City Public Schools — one of the nation's largest and most complex urban education systems — Dr. Mohan brings an unparalleled depth of practitioner expertise to every engagement. He has served as a high school principal, principal coach, and certified executive leadership coach, working alongside superintendents, district leaders, government ministries, and institutions committed to transformational outcomes.
A scientist and educator by training, Dr. Mohan holds degrees in Chemistry, Applied Mathematics, Experimental Pathology, and Educational Leadership. He earned his Ed.D. from Russell Sage College, completed Executive Leadership Coaching certification from Columbia University, and is a graduate of the Advanced Education Leadership program at the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
He currently serves as an Adjunct Professor and Doctoral Leadership Coach at Russell Sage College, where he mentors the next generation of education leaders.
